Great stationery things to buy

The stationery shop is a source of wonderment, and one which I thoroughly enjoy. It’s an odd thing to say but I find stationery shops fascinating. It’s not the paper or the coloured card which holds my attention. It’s the range of office gadgets. Rarely do I come out of a shop where they sell office chairs to pencils without some crazy item which I know will look good on my desk. The range runs from pencil holders, to calculators to USB memory sticks in the shape of a bottle. Does anyone else buy this stuff? Probably not! There are serious aspects to the shop selling all these goodies, so customers will include the office junior sent out to restock the paper clip collection. There will be the student looking for the cheapest line in A4 paper because the thesis is due next week. The office manager may be deciding on the best accounting software, and the householder could be there to find the well priced printer cartridge because the family have just printed off all the holiday pictures.

Stationery Shops - Many Types of Products and Services

The stationery shop is that kind of place. Some of the big ones even sell large bags of coffee for their office customers, along with computer systems, chairs, desks, printers - and that’s without the real stationery. There are the pens, markers, white boards, coloured pencils and biros. It’s a wealth of things for the office, but tucked away there will some great little gadgets or just fun items. We tend not to use pencils so much these days, but a good pencil sharpener is something that needs to be round when the lead breaks. Those novelty pencil sharpeners are just great, and it may look like a boat or a car – a difficult choice. From a design point of view, the pencil holder and the in tray have taken on a new sense of style. You can buy a plastic in tray which will do nothing for the desk, but try one of those stylish black wired versions. They do exactly the same job, but just look far better than bright red plastic. You can get the holder, the in tray and even the waste paper basket to match.

Beyond Stationery - The Whole OFfice

In the furniture section the chairs are the big draw. The office chair is important, especially if you are going to sit at the computer desk for hours on end. High backed leather styles compete with swivel fabrics, so you may see people sitting and spinning in the local stationery shop. All these things can be bought online at a stationery website, and I reckon most offices do this on a regular basis. But if you want to try out the swivel chair, run through some computer software choices with a sales man or decide on the most suitable colour card for the next school project, then a trip to the stationery supermarket is in your best interests. And there is always the frog wall clock to browse over or the thing that looks like the Houses of Parliament but turns out to be a telephone!
